Vegan-Friendly Ice Cream Shops in Seattle
Fully vegan and gluten-free
Good things come in threes. And Frankie & Jo's vegan ice cream shops are made up of three equal parts: sensational scoops, sustainability, and style. They also started an oat milk-based soft serve in 2023 with plenty of toppings to enjoy it with!
We love Frankie & Jo's scoop shops because they prioritize locally-grown, organic, and sustainably sourced ingredients. And their three (there's that number, again!) rotating flavors each month are always a fun surprise. They're also completely gluten-free, including their cones.
Speaking of threes: they’ve got three Seattle locations: University Village, Ballard, and Capitol Hill. You can also join their pint club and get seasonal or standard pints delivered to your door each month.

Sweet Alchemy is newer to Seattle’s ice cream scene, but we are loving the phenomenal vegan flavor options they are giving us!
Started by UW graduate, Lois Ko, the scoop shops use almost exclusively organic and locally-sourced ingredients. Plus, their vegan flavors are always amazing - like Lemon Pie, Mocha, Nutty For Chocolate, and Vanilla Latte. Sweet, sweet alchemy, indeed.
Don’t miss their vegan ice cream cakes for your special event.
Vegan-friendly
Portland-based Salt & Straw began as a modest ice cream cart and has since grown into a West Coast phenomenon.
They're consistently pushing the limits with creative flavor combinations, and it's always a treat to see what new vegan flavor they offer each month.
Their staple vegan flavors include Freckled Mint with Chocolate Chip, as well as Strawberry and Coconut Water Sherbet. Visit them in Ballard, Capitol Hill, or on the East side in Totem Lake for an out-of-the-ordinary, flavorful treat. They also ship nationally.
Vegan-friendly
Molly Moon's is a Seattle-based ice cream shop that sources nearly 90% of its ingredients locally. Their Vegan Coconut Chunk ice cream made it onto their "always" flavor board due to popular demand, and at least one of their four rotating seasonal flavors is always vegan.
A summer seasonal favorite is Strawberry Coconut - an ode to the classic strawberry ice cream - made with coconut cream and chunks of organic, locally-grown strawberries from Skagit County.
With locations in eight of Seattle area neighborhoods, you're never too far from a delectable vegan cone.
Vegan-friendly
Did you know that Greenlake is home to an actual Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop? And did you know they serve almost all of their vegan flavors, and sell their pints as well? It’s a beautiful thing.
Any excuse to go out and enjoy a day out at Greenlake is good for us, and it’s better with ice cream. They also make vegan ice cream cakes if you order in advance! Ben & Jerry’s also has franchise locations at South Center Mall and Gig Harbor if you’re traveling through.
More Vegan-Friendly Ice Cream & Soft Serve in Seattle
Here are a few more restaurants and scoop shops that serve vegan-friendly ice cream, gelato and sorbets! You can never have enough options, right?
Creamy Cone Cafe - Rainier Beach
This Black-owned and family-operated cafe serves up delicious treats including vegan ice cream, Root Beer floats, and espresso drinks! They even carry coconut whipped cream.
Full Tilt - Columbia City
While the other Full Tilt locations have closed due to the passing of its founder, Justin Cline, the Columbia City location lives on with different owners and a few vegan ice cream flavors to enjoy with a side of pin ball and arcade.
Bright Spot - Mount Baker
Bright Spot is a great stop for an afternoon pick-me-up or catch-up sesh with your bestie. Not only do they serve coffee and quick bites like avocado toast, they also have three soft serve flavors, all made with oat milk and ready for you to indulge in. Top it off with Oreo crumbles, house made chocolate sauce, or fruity pebbles for a real treat.
Cinnaholic - Capitol Hill
If you’re capable of going to Cinnaholic and choosing soft serve over a cinnamon roll, they’ve got a delicious dole whip waiting for you.
Kamp Social House - Madison Valley
This LGBTQ-owned bar and restaurant is well known for its drag brunches and holiday decorations. But they also have two flavors of soft serve with flavor changes each and every Friday, and usually at least one flavor is vegan!
Milk Drunk - Beacon Hill
If you are comfortable visiting a non-vegan fried sandwich shop, then you will be pleased with their vegan-friendly soft serve ice creams. Choose from the rotating selection of flavors, and add vegan toppings like Oreos, fancy cherries, or potato chips. Cake cones are vegan.
Matcha Man - Georgetown
As the name implies, this cafe serves matcha lattes and other flavorful espresso drinks, as well as soft serve. They always offer 2 flavors of vegan soft serve which you can get as a swirl, along with toppings. The fun fish and waffles cones are not vegan, but it’s worth enjoying in a paper cup.
Rachel’s Ginger Beer - U. District, Pike Place, South Lake Union, Capitol Hill
This hand-crafted ginger beer shop is also home to pineapple dole whip soft serve with lots of toppings. Or, make it a float with their delicious ginger beer.
Nutty Squirrel Gelato - Phinney Ridge, Magnolia
This gelato spot carries 3 vegan flavors in either gelato or sorbetto at their Phinney Ridge and Magnolia shops. A mainstay is Forest Berries sorbetto, made with strawberries, boysenberries, and black currant. Monthly rotating flavors have included Apricot, Vegan Joy with coconut and chocolate, Watermelon, and Lavender Lemonade.
D'Ambrosio Gelato - Ballard
This gelato shop also serves at least one smooth sorbetto flavor. The Lemoncello is a must-try.
Cupcake Royale - Madrona, West Seattle, Burien
Cupcake Royale usually only has one to two vegan flavors of ice cream (unless they have a sorbet in the mix). They’re made with soy and coconut-based ice cream, and pair perfectly with a Triple Chocolate vegan cupcake.
