I grew up in Spokane, Washington and have been living in Seattle since 2009.
From there, my personal growth journey began with environmentalism and the harsh truths of climate change and polluting industries.
This lead me to learn more about what I could do to limit my contributions to these problems, which lead me toward veganism.
It wasn’t until this time, in my early 20s I finally learned about the cruelties and environmental atrocities of the meat and dairy industries, as well as beauty and fashion industries.
A lover of all creatures (still working on “loving” spiders… although I now tolerate them), it became quite clear that my diet and lifestyle did not align with my core values.
As “extreme” and difficult as I thought the vegan diet would be, it actually opened my world to new and exciting ways to enjoy food.
And once I realized that nearly everything I thought I would miss I could still enjoy as a vegan, it was a no-brainer for me.
Cooking at home became more fun, and seeing more and more vegan options sprouting on restaurant menus made me want to share it with the world.
I am grateful to live in a city that makes it pretty darn easy to live a vegan lifestyle, and I want to make it easier for others to explore the best vegan options in my city and beyond.
When I’m not eating or writing about vegan food, I can be found reading, snuggling with my cat, or traveling the world with my partner, Joshua.
