Vegan Eats & Sweet Treats In White Center

Vegan Eats & Sweet Treats In White Center

White Center, often referred to as “Rat City” and located between West Seattle and Burien, is a small but mighty vegan destination.

From Vietnamese food to pizza to ice cream with a side of Skee-Ball, if you find yourself just south of Seattle, you’ll have solid options to choose from.

Here are six of our favorite places for vegan food in White Center. Enjoy!

Perhaps the crown jewel of vegan dining in White Center is Seattle Lotus Vegetarian. A meat-free paradise, the five page menu boasts over sixty items, most of which are vegan.

Lotus serves up nearly every Vietnamese dish diners could dream of, featuring noodle dishes, hot pot, and even Vietnamese crepes on the weekend. The menu offers several proteins, ranging from traditional tofu to mock seafood, duck, and beef.

Take advantage of Lotus’s reasonable pricing and try a few dishes! A reminder that while most of the menu is vegan, don’t forget to ask before ordering as a few items contain egg.

In a sea of Pho restaurants, the simply named Pho-White Center stands out. With an unfussy menu of Vietnamese staples, Pho-White Center offers deliciously comforting pho. Pho-White Center doesn’t have much of an online presence, but their menu can be found by scrolling through photos on their website. When ordering, specify vegan broth (it’s on the menu), which can be substituted for $1.00.

Proletariat Pizza may only have one vegan pizza, but that pizza is a delight. While cheeseless pizzas can be underwhelming, Proletariat’s is delicious. With a tomato sauce base layered with spinach, mushroom, and Mama Lil’s peppers, the pizza is better than the sum of its parts.

It’s even better when topped with Field Roast sausage crumbles. In addition, their rotating quinoa salad is usually vegan (or veganizable). After diners have polished off their pizza, it’s time to cross the street for our next featured stop.

Good Day Donuts is one of those hidden gems that you almost want to keep to yourself but it’s too good not to share. Let’s start with the bad news: They only serve vegan donuts on Thursdays and Sundays (Mondays they have vegan fritters but no other flavors). But, there’s good news: They are damn good donuts.

Good Day hand-makes classic, fluffy raised donuts ranging from traditional glazed to rotating specials like plum jalapeno fritters. The shop is busy, so your best bet is to pre-order. That way, you can skip the line and make sure they’re not out of their vegan offerings.

In the neighborhood craving lunch? Seven days a week, Good Day offers a vegan chorizo & cheese hot sub, made with chorizo link, melted vegan mottz, roasted Delicata squash, and cabbage-cilantro slaw.

Full Tilt Ice Cream has everything: inventive flavors, arcade games, vegan cones, and beer. Parfaits with vegan caramel sauce? Done. Mint Oreo ice cream cake? You’ve got it. Cookie Dough (no, not ice cream, straight up cookie dough!)? Of course.

Don’t miss out on Cheap Date Tuesdays, when Full Tilt offers $2.00 tall boys of Olympia and $5.00 banana splits. Keep an eye on their Instagram for the latest deals and specials.
