Zola’s Cafe

Auburn

A local favorite, Zola’s Cafe proudly features a sign on the building advertising vegan options. The cafe serves a hearty vegan breakfast burrito all day and people rave about their focaccia pizza.

Beyond their standard menu, Zola’s Cafe often offers specials, such as an all-vegan four-course date night menu featuring mushroom pate, African peanut stew, lasagna and charred broccolini, all rounded out by red wine poached pears and vegan ice cream.

These specials are pre-order only, so make sure to keep an eye on their Instagram (@zolascafe).

Manraj Palace of India

Kent

Manraj Palace of India Cuisine is a vegan dream, with a huge menu that has marked vegan options as well as a “vegetable delights” section. You’ll find your favorite standbys, such as chana masala and aloo gobi as well as less commonly featured entrees, including bhindi masala and aloo vindaloo.

Most vegetarian entrees can be made without dairy on request, expanding their already large menu. Don’t skip the appetizers here--order the gobi pakora, which is cauliflower fried into crispy fritters, or aloo tikki, a popular Indian street food snack made with boiled potatoes and spices.

You won’t be disappointed.

Gor Gai Thai

Street Food

Auburn

Gor Gai Thai Street Food is another excellent choice in Auburn. Most menu items can be made with tofu and when ordering online, there is the option to select “vegan, no egg” to modify dishes like fried rice that are traditionally not available vegan.

Entrees are highly customizable and the staff is very happy to provide vegan options.

WildWheatCake.jpg

Wild Wheat Bakery

Kent

Wild Wheat Bakery might not have many vegan options, but the ones they do have available make this cafe a solid spot for vegans and non-vegans alike.

For brunch, try their vegan breakfast, a vegetable hash with potatoes, pinto beans and soy patties. For lunch, order the green garbanzo falafel sliders or a build-your-own bowl.

Have a sweet tooth? You’re in luck! The cafe recently added vegan cake to their lineup, which can be ordered by the slice or as an entire cake for your next birthday celebration (or just for fun, treat yourself).
