Flip Flip Ding Ding, Georgetown's Iconic Arcade, Launches Vegan Food Menu

[UPDATE 2/2022: After nearly 8 years in business, Flip Flip ding Ding has permanently closed its doors.]

Pinball and pizza are a match made in vegan heaven. And lucky for us, this vegan heaven is located in Georgetown.

Georgetown's iconic pinball arcade Flip Flip Ding Ding is now serving mouthwatering vegan food for all to enjoy.

Owner Rex Ray, who also owns vegan mainstay Pi Vegan Pizzeria, has launched a full vegan menu of pizza, appetizers, desserts, and more, to enjoy while gaming.

Don’t mistake the arcade for a second Pi Vegan location, though; Flip Flip Ding Ding is an exciting destination in its own right.

Flip Flip Ding Ding's Backstory

Flip Flip Ding Ding opened in Georgetown in 2014 as a 21+ bar, offering pinball, arcade games, and beer on tap.

A two-level building packed with a variety of games, the arcade previously hosted weekly pinball tournaments and was a unique destination for both dedicated pinballers as well as those seeking to mix up the standard bar crawl.

Flip Flip Ding Ding closed in March 2020, due to the governor’s shut-down order, but when the governor announced that restaurants could reopen, Ray began building a commercial kitchen and officially opened with a new business license in January 2021.

The New Menu Features Vegan Pizza, Wings & More

Flip Flip Ding Ding’s menu isn’t finalized and is currently a modified version of Ray’s other restaurant, Pi Vegan Pizzeria. The menu is packed with imaginative combinations, such as the Magic Mac - a white garlic sauce-based pizza topped with mac and cheese.

Other pizzas include veganized classics, such as the Meatlovers: a pie stacked with pepperoni, sausage, and Canadian bacon that is sure to make even self-proclaimed carnivores swoon.

Along with build-your-own options, diners can snag individual pizza slices from the pizza warmer.

Craving something beyond pizza? Flip Flip Ding Ding has you covered with hot or barbeque wings and hearty salads packed with vegan meats and cheeses.

Pinball and Arcade Are Still At The Forefront

With the introduction of a full food menu, Flip Flip Ding Ding isn’t losing sight of its origins. Ray emphasizes that it’s still an arcade, albeit one that now serves delicious vegan grub. He recommends that customers stop in and check it out themselves.

He notes that the arcade’s oven is very fast and most orders are ready in 15 minutes. Have some downtime while waiting? Ray suggests that pizza lovers “spend that time playing pinball - you won't regret it!”

Flip Flip Ding Ding hasn’t officially announced a grand opening but anticipates that it should be coming in the next couple of weeks. The pinball community has already been enjoying the new food and Ray is excited for the arcade to be the “go-to spot for yummy vegan food in South Seattle.” As he puts it, “I'm so happy to see my 2 worlds finally combine: pinball and vegan pizza!” We gotta say, he’s not alone.

Flip Flip Ding Ding is open every day from 2:00 pm-11:00 pm.
