The Best Vegan Thai Restaurants in Seattle

Thai food is well-loved in the plant-based community for its versatility and easily veganizable dishes.

And in Seattle, there’s no shortage of Thai restaurants that offer substantial vegan or vegan-friendly menus! So, I had to narrow it down to the top-rated Thai restaurants that local vegans love. Enjoy this guide and let me know which place is your favorite!

Fully vegan

Kati Vegan Thai is perhaps the most favorited purveyor of vegan Thai in Seattle. Their creative vegan menu offers delicious original creations in addition to classic Thai dishes like spring rolls and pad thai. 

Start out your meal with angel wings, fried oyster mushrooms, or an order of crispy garlic jackfruit.

For a main, try their chuchi blossom rice, aromatic banana blossom slices in a flavorful red chili sauce, or their pumpkin curry, a hearty coconut curry which is delicious over Kati’s specialty purple rice.

To round out your meal, grab a mango sticky rice for dessert, or one of their house cocktails to go. The Thairish Tea-- Thai iced tea, coconut cream, and a shot of whisky-- is a fun 21+ twist on a staple drink. No matter what you order, you can be sure that it’ll be vegan and delicious! Fully vegan

Araya’s Place is a charming Seattle vegan Thai eatery, popular for not only their delicious food but for their warm ambiance (when we used to be able to dine-in).

With locations in the U-District, Madison, and Bellevue, Araya’s is convenient for people all over the Seattle area. With an entirely vegan menu, you won’t have to worry about asking for modifications. 

The fried Brussels sprouts are a crispy delight, and the pineapple fried rice, stir-fried with seasonal vegetables and topped with crispy onions, is also delicious. Try Araya’s portobello, vegan chicken stir-fried with four different kinds of mushrooms, for another savory option, or fried banana with coconut ice cream for something sweet.

Jhanjay is a cozy hole-in-the-wall vegetarian restaurant located in Wallingford. A popular haunt amongst vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike, this place is a guaranteed hit no matter who you take along with you.

In addition to vegetarian takes on Thai staples, their menu also includes a number of creative Thai concoctions that are worth trying. 

Try their mango tofu, crispy tofu fried with mango, veggies, and chestnuts in a sweet sauce, or Buddha’s Basket, stir-fried vegetables, taro, and mushrooms in a crispy edible bowl. Other favorites include Monk’s noodles and their pineapple curry, which is perfectly sweet.

Wedgwood II, the sister restaurant of Thai of Wedgwood, is known for its extensive vegetarian menu and the zen atmosphere of its Capitol Hill location.

They offer a number of soups, noodles, curries, and fried rice. While some of their dishes include egg, which can be easily substituted out, and all dishes allow for a veggie meat substitution (in lieu of tofu) with an additional charge. 

Wedgewood II is especially unique for its vegetarian hot pot-- the Wedgwood Hot Pot comes with tofu, mushrooms, veggie fish, and veggie pork.

The Thai Suki Hot Pot, which includes veggie meat and vegetables over silver noodles, is another option that’s perfect to share. Our single complaint is that Wedgwood II is only open for dinner! Visit Wedgewood II
